Fishing Weights

Fishing Weights are used to help cast a hook or lure farther and to get a hook or lure deeper, faster. Most weights are made of lead and be attached by clamping on to a fishing line or tying on to a fishing line where weight has a eyelet. Both are great trout fishing!

Two of the more common type weights that are used for trout fishing are the Split Shot weight and the Bell weight.

The Split Shot weight is used by clamping on to your fishing line and to get your hook and bait to drift along or on the bottom of deeper, fast area of a stream or river.

A Bell Weight is attached to the end of your line and then you can tie on 1 or 2 hooks, starting 12 inches to 18 inches from the bell weight. This works great at fishing turbulent deep pools where you want to keep your line and hook or hooks anchored and of the bottom.
